RUDY, Miriam (Sudarsky)
Miriam (Sudarsky) Rudy of Weston, MA, formerly of Hartford, CT and Highland Beach, FL, died on October 4, 2013 at the age of 96. Born in Hartford, CT, "Mimi" was the daughter of Charles and Dora (Lublin) Sudarsky. She leaves her son, John Rudy, and daughter-in-law, Susan Herman; her brother, David Sudarsky and her sister, Ruth Wortman; her grandson, Charles Sternberg and wife, Tricia, her granddaughters, Paula and Sara Rudy, and her great grandchildren, Campbell and Cooper Sternberg. Miriam and her devoted loving husband, Sidney Rudy celebrated their 70th anniversary a month before his death in April, 2011. She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula Rudy Sternberg, and her brother, Joseph Sudarsky. Miriam graduated from Connecticut State Teacher's College in 1939. She taught in the Granby, CT school system for 4 years, at an American school in Japan for 1 year and then returned to the United States, teaching in Weymouth, MA for 4 years. She received a Masters of Education degree from the University of Connecticut in 1967. She was a founding member of Beth El Temple of West Hartford. Mimi will be remembered for making a warm and loving home to her children and her grandchildren. Family and friends were everything to her.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6 at Beth El Temple Cemetery, Jackson Street Extension, Avon, CT with Rabbi Stanley Kessler officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are entrusted to Weinstein Mortuary, Hartford, CT.
