Norma Santoro Obituary



Norma Santoro, 63, of Bristol, beloved wife of 33 years of Carl Santoro, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, on January 12th, 2014 at Newington Health Care Center in Newington, CT. Norma was born on October 30, 1950 in New Britain, was one of two children of Norman and Catherine (Lynch) Elphick and was also raised in New Britain. After completing high school, she worked for Critikon in Southington and later as a hotel receptionist at Centennial Inn, in Farmington. Norma was an avid bowler, and greatly enjoyed cooking, gardening and anything involving flowers. She loved spending time in Cape Cod and also taking trips to the casino with her family and friends. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her two grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Norma is survived by one son: Michael Santoro, Astoria, NY and one daughter and son-in-law: Kim (Perry) and Paul Keegan, Bristol. Norma is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law: Charles and Susan Elphick, Burlington; two grandchildren: Taylor Keegan and Jordan Keegan, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday, January 17 at 10AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Relatives and friends are invited to call at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol on Thursday, January 16 between 4 and 7 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a fundraiser for a close friend of her son, Michael's, Daniel Purdy, who is also battling cancer at http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundraiser/pesos-for-purdy/112973, or to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St, I-91 Tech Center, Rocky Hill, CT., 06067-3045. We were best friends as teenagers, Norma was one of my Bridesmaids, we lost touch through out the years but she was always on my mind. We reconnected for a few hours about 5 years ago, it was as if we never were apart. Norma Rest In Peace. I miss you already.

To my brother Carl,my godson n nephew Michael, n my niece Kimmy please know I am and always will be here for you. Norma was like a sister to me and I loved her very much. She will forever be in my heart. I am so sorry and if you ever need mereach out to me. I love you all. I .shared a song on fb today o. I think it will bring comfort to you if you hear it.
