STEELE, Ora Dowdell
Ora Dowdell Steele, 95, passed away Saturday, (October 19, 2013) at Hughes Health and Rehabilitation. Born in Hartford, CT the daughter of the late Shelly Dowdell and Lilly Mack. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1938. She was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church. She was a retired Seamstress and Fur Finisher. She is survived by a daughter, Paula Devonish of Springfield, MA and devoted son in law, Laurence Devonish; a sister, Ethel Dowdell of New York City; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband the late James Monroe Steele whom she was married to for 70 years and a daughter Lorraine Willis.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. with calling hour 9 a.m. on Saturday, October 26 at All Faith Memorial Chapel 90 John Fitch Blvd. So. Windsor, CT. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, CT.
