ROBOTHAM, Patricia "Tish"
Patricia "Tish" Robotham, passed away peacefully in Belfast on August 20, 2013 with her loving husband by her side. She was born in Bristol, CT November 14, 1938 to James and Bridie Clark. Tish was the fifth of seven children. She was raised and educated in West Hartford, Connecticut. She graduated from Mt. St. Joseph's Academy in West Hartford. Tish married the love of her life, David F. Robotham on November 14, 1959. In her youth, she volunteered as a candy striper at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford and Newington Children's Hospital. She later volunteered in the US Coast Guard Auxiliary from 1980 to 1998 in Search & Rescue and Radio Watch Stander and Instructor. Tish delivered Meals on Wheels for Knox County From 1999 until 2004 and served on the Board of Kno-Wal-Lin Home Health Care and Hospice from 2002 until 2006 when she was elected to Vice President for 2007-2008. She was an avid gardener, bridge player and loved to cook and entertain family and friends. In 1974 she founded and ran Personal Business Services Inc. in Old Lyme, Connecticut, selling the Corporation in 1993. She and David then retired to Rackliffe Island in St. George, Maine. She was predeceased by a sister Mary Ellen, brother James, nephew Neil Brewer and grand-nephew William Brewer. Tish is survived by her husband of 54 years, David; their two daughters, Ronda Robotham of West Warwick, Rhode Island and Gail Montesanto of Old Lyme, CT and her three grandchildren whom she loved very much, Sarah, Allison and Jonathan Montesanto, all of Old Lyme. Tish also leaves sisters, Catherine C. Brewer of West Hartford, CT, Margaret A. Ryan of Vermilion, OH; brothers John P. Clark and wife Carole of West Hartford, CT and Thomas J. Clark and his wife Marjorie of Avon, CT; also 20 nieces and nephews; 42 great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial mass will be held at 11 am on Monday August 26. 2013 at St Francis of Assisi in Belfast. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society of Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements are under the care of Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast. I had some renewed contact with Tish lately. I am glad to see the "smiling" photo because I remember her wonderful sense of humor. My sincere sympathy to you and your family.
