FORD, Paul, Sr.
Paul Ford Sr., 86, of Suffield, husband of the late Elaine (Alexopoulos) Ford, passed away Tuesday, (August 20, 2013) at The Suffield House. He was born in Suffield, the son of the late Howard and Ann (Austin) Ford, and was a lifelong resident of Suffield. Paul was a graduate of the Suffield Public Schools, served his country in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the American Legion. He was employed by the Suffield Police Department, and was an active member of the Suffield Volunteer Fire Department. After leaving the Suffield Police Department, he was employed by Orr Construction, Connecticut General, Sentry Security and the St. Joseph School in Enfield. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Suffield. He was always a very social person and enjoyed telling stories and reminiscing with friends and family. He is survived by a son Paul Jr. and Barbara Ford of Enfield; two daughters, Pamela and James Sheridan Jr. of West Suffield, and Laurie Ford and Edward Markowski Jr. of West Suffield. Five grandchildren, James III and Justin Sheridan, Holly Markowski, Nikolis and Alexis Ford; and a sister-in-law Mary Ford of Weirs Beach, N.H. Paul was predeceased by a son Howard G. Ford, and five siblings.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 24, at 11 a.m. at the Heritage Funeral Home 1240 Mountain Rd., West Suffield. Friends may call at the Heritage Funeral Home prior to the funeral service from 9-11 a.m. His family would like to thank the entire staff at The Suffield House for the all their kindness and wonderful care.
