Paul E. ROULEAU

Paul E. Rouleau, 72, of Davenport, FL and formerly Vernon, CT passed away Friday, June 21, at Saint Francis Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Blouin) and they just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary on June 10. He was born in Berlin, NH on January 28, 1941, to the late Ludger and Leontine (Beauchemin) Rouleau. Paul and Jeanne were high school sweethearts, lived their life together as best friends and were always seen holding hands. He was devoted to his wife and children and adored his grandchildren. Paul served in the Marine Corps Reserves and worked in the aerospace industry as an engineer with several companies. For 40 years he and Jeanne lived in Vernon. In 2003 he retired from Caval Tool and they relocated to Davenport. His lifelong passion was landscaping and gardening. He loved the Florida climate, which allowed him to fulfill his dreams. He had ""yard of the month"" in his Davenport community, and was known as a handyman by all. Even upon his retirement he put in full time hours in his yard, but never saw this as a chore. He enjoyed his 10 year retirement. Every morning he would take walks with Bob, who he considered to be the brother he never had. Ginger was his little dog, his baby, and he loved catering to her. Paul and Jeanne loved vacationing and they traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean. He enjoyed collecting stamps and cheering on his favorite teams the Boston Red Sox and the UConn Huskies. He loved helping his family with home improvements and other projects-his final act confirmed this. He loved the sun and being outdoors. Paul loved life and was a young and healthy 72 year old. He always had on a smile. In addition to his loving wife, Jeanne, he is survived by his two children, Shirley J. Kalagher and her husband James, of Coventry, and Paul E. Rouleau Jr. and his wife Holly, of Vernon; his three sisters Pauline Roy of Vernon, Rita Marois and her husband Gene of Berlin, NH and Cecile Fauteux of Vernon; his six grandchildren, Patrick Kalagher and his wife Taryn, Michael Rouleau, Rachel Kalagher, Alex Rouleau, Chrissy Pettengill and Nicholas Rouleau; his two great grandchildren, Gavin and Jordan; and his many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may gather with his family during calling hours on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road, Vernon. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, beginning at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10 a.m., at St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville.
