Paula Sylvester Obituary
Paula F. Sylvester, 61, of Enfield passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on November 20, 2013. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Eileen (Sylvester) and Dan Pelkey of Enfield, several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Paula is predeceased by her parents Pauline and Frank Sylvester. Paula graduated from Bloomfield High, Class of 1970 and retired from the Department of Developmental Services in 2009 after over 30 years of employment. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and dogs. Funeral services will be held on Monday, Nov. 25, 2013, 11 a.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 580 Elm St., Rocky Hill. Calling hours will be on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013 from 2-5 p.m. at the funeral home. A special thanks to the staff at Parkway Pavilion in Enfield for their compassion and support during Paula's stay.

Your mother was a very warm individual, with a ready smile, and always had a kind word for everyone. She was very proud of you and would bring you into the DMR office in Bloomfield office occasionally when you were little.

I am so sorry to hear about your Mom's passing. I met your Mom & Family on a trip to Italy back in 1972. We became friends and had great time. I was at her wedding & she was at mine. Since I moved to Florida we lost touch but with Facebook we connected again. I had no idea she was sick. Paula was a great person and will be missed dearly. Know that you were everything to her and she Loved you dearly. She never stopped talking about you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Paula is at peace and living with the Angels.Her memories will live on!

Eileen and Dan; It was a great pleasure to meet and help care for Paula. Many of us got to know and love her in such a short period of time. She is sadly missed by us all. May your memories of her give you peace and strength in the days ahead.

I can recall great conversations with Paula back in the former DMR days. She spoke fondly of her daughter all the time.
Eileen, have strength during this time and in the future...your MOM's love and spirit will cover you perpetually.
Paula had a gentle and warm spirit then and always met you with a smile. My prayers are with her and the entire family.
God's love is everlasting.

Eileen & Dan - It is with a very sad heart I write this. Your mom graduated from BHS with Dennis and worked with us on the 40th Reunion committee in 2010. She was a great help to me with our daughter, Jenny, through her work at the State. Our paths crossed many times over the years and I am so glad I got to see her at Parkway and talk with her a few times on the phone after that. Eileen and Dan,
I was not only in the same class as your mom, we were friends in high school. We were in many of the same secretarial classes throughout our junior and senior years. Paula was a very loving and kind person! Never did I hear her say an unkind word about anyone.
I remember when you were just a little girl and she would bring you in to the Sunoco gas station on Blue Hills Avenue to let me see you. I worked there part time as a bookkeeper for many years. She would come in with you and her mom. She was so very proud of you!
I cannot express how very sorry I am for your loss. Paula will be in my prayers.
