Pauline J. Landsman

The family of Pauline Landsman is saddened to report her passing on Monday, December 9, 2013 at the age of 84. She was born in Dublin, Ireland, to parents who were from the Isle of Man. She spent much of her childhood at the Park School in Yeovil, England. She met her former husband Douglas at the Atomic Weapons Research Lab where she was a nurse. She had a long career in local real estate and was a recipient of many awards for her ability to make both buyers and sellers happy. She was a keen supporter of animal rights and was an owner of many cats and dogs. She always welcomed her children's affection for adopting pets, from guinea pigs to boa constrictors to snapping turtles. She was first and foremost about family. She leaves behind her former husband and loyal supporter, Douglas Landsman of Hartford, her children, Grant and Cindy Landsman of West Hartford, Rosanne Landsman and John Keefe of East Hampton, Andrew and Joy Landsman of Moodus and Farmington, and Melanie Landsman of West Hartford, who was also her devoted caregiver. She was a loving and caring grandmother to her grandchildren, John Brodzinski, Jessica Brodzinski, Codie Landsman and Meagan Landsman. She was also a compassionate grandmother to her other grandchildren, Nate, Ian and Samantha Johnese. She was thrilled to be a great-grandmother to Tyler Carter. Services will be private. Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to the charity of the giver's choice. We would like to thank the staff at both Hughes Convalescent Home in West Hartford and St. Francis Medical Center for their compassion and support during this difficult time.
