Pauline Ward Obituary



Pauline S. Ward of West Hartford, widow of Edward J. Ward, died peacefully on Sunday December 22, 2013 a few months shy of her 100th birthday. Born at home in Hartford, she was a proud graduate of Hartford Public High School. Pauline relocated to West Hartford where she resided for over 60 years and raised her family finally moving to the McAuley retirement community in 2001. She was a devoted wife, a loving, dedicated and nurturing mother and a loyal and generous friend to many. She was predeceased by her two brothers. Pauline is survived by her two children, Hollis (Dr. Eugene) Cassidy of Marshalltown IA, Honorable Bradford J (Janet) Ward of West Hartford, and three grandchildren Meredith Cassidy of IA, Stacy Ward and her husband Michael McCarthy of Ames, NY, and Attorneys Katie and Ben Bare of Wethersfield and her adored great grandson Benji. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins. The family is grateful for the attention and care she was given by the staff of 3 South at the Hebrew Home and Hospital the last three years of her life.
