Peter Popielarczyk Obituary
Peter J. Popielarczyk, 52, of Southington, passed away on Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain after a long illness. Born in New Britain, the beloved son of Peter and Toni (Sylvia) Popielarczyk, he was a lifelong resident of Southington. He graduated from Southington High school where he played trumpet in the marching band and was on the swim team. Peter was a truck driver for Bozzuto's Trucking. He loved boating and water sports and was an avid fisherman and Red Sox fan. In addition to his loving parents, Peter and Toni, he will be dearly missed by his brother Paul Popielarczyk and his wife Kathy of West Haven, his sister and best friend Wendy Popielarczyk of Southington; his nephew Devon Popielarczyk; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his canine companion Moe. Peter's funeral will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31st at the Burritt Hill Funeral Home, 332 Burritt St. New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in New Britain. He will be laid to rest privately in Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain. Relatives and Friends are invited to call on Monday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Burritt Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Peter's name may be made to the CT Humane Society, 701 Russell Rd. Newington, CT 06111. To the Popielarczyk Family I am sorry for your loss. Growing up in the neighborhood we were all so close. Spending so many days at your house I have such great memorie of Peter always being the Big Brother Protector. He was a great guy and we were blessed to have such a good friend. I am so sorry for your loss. Pete was a great guy with a great sense of humor. He will be dearly missed. I was fortunate enough to work with Pete at Bozzuto's years ago. Prayers for you and your family during this period of grievance. May Pete rest in peace!
