RAND, Ramon Larry
Ramon Larry Rand, age 80 of East Hartford, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, (October 4, 2013). Son of the late Joseph and Sadie Rand of Wilton, ME, he was predeceased by Kenneth Rand his brother, and his life partner Eric Tarbox. Besides his surviving life partner Wilson Charlton, he leaves a son Lloyd Rand of Litchfield, KY, a stepson Danny Tarbox of Canterbury, CT, a sister Beatrice Gerrish of Burlington, VT, and a brother Carl Rand of Northport at Bayside, ME. He retired from the Navy after 22 years and then worked for Electric Boat in Groton, CT for 20 years. Ray was a computer junkie and enjoyed putting together web sites for many nonprofit organizations. He was a life member of Connecticut Prime Timers, and a supporter of the Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 26th at 11 a.m. at MCC Hartford, 155 Wyllys Street, Hartford, CT. Donations may be made in his memory to VNA Healthcare, Hospice Unit, 999 Asylum Avenue, Hartford, CT 06105. To share a memory with the family please visit www.dillonbaxter.com
