Rita CHARETTE

Rita (Rossignol) Pelletier Charette, 88, of Vernon, passed away December 18, 2013 at the Jerome Home in New Britain. She was born in Keegan, ME, May 16, 1925 the daughter of the late Joseph and Marie Nadeau Rossignol, one of 17 children. On Nov. 27, 1946 she married Octave J. Pelletier moving to Hartford in 1952 where they raised their family. Octave died Jan. 26, 1967. Rita remarried to Elie Charette on July 4, 1986 residing in Vernon until his death Dec. 17, 2007. She had worked in the West Hartford school system and Travelers Insurance in Hartford until her retirement. Survivors include her daughter Anne Marie Nadeau and her husband Philip of Southington, Ronald Pelletier and his wife Diane of West Hartford and Richard Pelletier and his wife Laura of Rocky Hill, six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her four stepchildren and their families. She was predeceased by twin sons Paul and Patrick, and 16 brothers and sisters. The Funeral will be held Monday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St. Southington to St. Dominic Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Northwood Cemetery in Hartford.
