Robyn Walonski Obituary
Robyn Joy Walonski, 50, of Old Saybrook, passed away peacefully at Middlesex Hospital on Friday, November 15, 2013 surrounded by her loving family. She cherished her children Chris and Rachel Walonski with warmth and gentleness. Robyn resided in Old Saybrook for the majority of her life alongside her husband John Walonski. She devotedly cared for her parents and enjoyed spending summers in New Hampshire with her family. After her employment with Liberty Bank for 27 years, Robyn aspired to become a healthcare professional to help other people suffering from cancer. Robyn's open mind and compassionate worldview inspired her dedicated service with Rotary International, the Red Cross, and the United Way. These community engagements inspired Robyn to participate in an exchange program with Turkey and to aid disaster relief workers following Hurricane Wilma. Robyn is survived by her husband John Walonski; her daughter Rachel Walonski; her son Chris Walonski; her mother Norma E. Waldmann; her sisters Lark Weimar and her husband Robert of New Hampshire, Wendy Harmon and her husband Mike of New Hampshire; her mother and father-in-law Josephine and John Walonski Sr. of Florida; her sister-in-law Rose Fox of Massachusetts; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Robyn was predeceased by her loving father Franz X. Waldmann and her sister Gail Waldmann. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of her life on Sat Nov. 23 from 1-3 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Rd, Old Saybrook, CT 06475. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Middlesex Hospital Cancer Center, 536 Saybrook Rd, Middletown, CT 06457.

John, Chris & Rachel; I was shocked and saddened when it was announced in church this morning; we all prayed for Robyn and you, her cherished family.
For me, it began as a professional friendship @ Liberty many years ago. It evolved into conversations about our families, vacations, etc. And what a loving Mom and wife she was! The warmth in her eyes as she spoke of her family was wonderful. She was proud of all of you.

I had the pleasure of working directly with Robyn for many years at Liberty Bank. Her concern and care for her customers and her co-workers was only surpassed by her love for her family. I will remember Robyn for her compassion, kindness, and willingness to help others whenever called upon. We have all lost a very special person. My condolences to John and her family.

Coral and I are shocked & saddened to hear the news about Robyn. We had no idea that Robyn was battling. It's been a few years since we coordinated play-dates and activities together with our girls, but I will never forget the warmth of Robyn and your family. All the giggles and fun.
