BRUNO, Rose D'Amato
Rose D'Amato Bruno, beloved wife of the late Joseph J. Bruno, and much loved mother of Philip J. Bruno of New York City, passed away on April 21st at Delray Hospice, after a short illness, at the age of 88. Born in 1924, the daughter of Madeline and John D'Amato she was one of eight children, her surviving siblings are Archangelo D'Amato of Lady Lakes, FL, Patricia Johnson of Hartford, and Johanna D'Ambrosio of Wethersfield. Growing up in Hartford on Mechanic Street and Victoria Road, she attended Brown School, Henry Barnard, and graduated from Hartford Public High. She was married in 1946. After working at the Traveler's Insurance Company she and her family moved to West Hartford where she worked at the Town Hall as Clerk of the Court till her retirement. After a couple of seasons as snowbirds she and Joe moved from Cromwell to Boynton Beach, FL in 1989. Rose was loved by many friends and relatives, who will remember her as a warm, kind, and sweet individual. The world is an emptier place without her.
