Rose G. DeSantis

1909 - 2014

Rose G. DeSantis, 104, of Cape Coral, FL passed away on January 8, 2014 at her home. She was born in Manhattan, New York on July 3, 1909 to parents Vincent and Emilia Giordanelli. Rose had been a resident of Cape Coral since 1977, having come from her previous home in Yonkers, NY. She was a graduate of Hunter College in Bronx, NY, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Education. She was a gifted teacher, and also worked for the Book of the Month Club, where she met her husband, Ralph. Rose spent much of her life as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church. Rose was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ralph G. DeSantis; as well as brothers, Michael Giordanelli, Guy Giordanelli, Louis Giordanelli, and sister Natalie Lapatino. She will be dearly missed by her children and their spouses Gregory (Jean) DeSantis of Suffield, CT; Janet B. (Roger) Wolff of Ponte Vedra, FL; Nancy (Tom) O'Brien of Bloomingburg, NY; Paul DeSantis of Cape Coral, FL; and Charles (Jane) DeSantis of Somers, CT; as well as six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. A visitation will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at the Fuller Metz Funeral Chapel on Del Prado Blvd. in Cape Coral, followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. Entombment will follow at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
