Dear Uncle Sal,
You were our ‘baby uncle'. I mean no disrespect, but when your sisters, Mom and Aunt So spoke, it was “my brother Vinny, my brother Louis, and my baby brother, Sal”. You've been our link to both generations. To me you had wisdom and advice for all important stuff, like gardens, house plants and critter behavior, (to keep them off our garden). Who else can grow great tomatoes in the shade of a Madison cottage, move through woods after deer, and glide beautiful Mary Ann over a dance floor. How wonderful you both looked, dancing at your golden anniversary. When we'd arrive for a party juggling coolers, your ‘hello' kisses, and warm smile was so big, it went up a cheek. We're still using and maintaining the birdhouses, Uncle Sal, and while they may not hold bluebirds, many feathered friends have found shelter there. There are plenty of crabs, fish, and deer who will miss matching wits with you, like we nieces and nephews who will miss your special presence. Rest with love, Uncle, until we meet again.
