Sandra SYPECK Obituary

SYPECK, Sandra
Sandra Sypeck beloved sister and friend died August 2, 2013 at Crestfield Nursing Center, Manchester, CT after a brief illness. Sandy was born in the Enfield area in 1954, grew up in East Hartford and later lived for many years in Manchester at Holiday Manor. Sandy was predeceased by her parents, Alice and Stanley; and brothers Don and Stan, Jr. She is survived by her sister Andrea Monaco and brother-in-law Lou, of Maine; her brother Steven, of Storrs; her Aunt Helen of Enfield and cousins in CT, MA and NY. In addition to these are her dearest friend Karen Friedmann and her husband Rick and children Valerie and Paul whom Sandy loved dearly. In spite of the many adversities Sandy faced in life, she always found a way to show family, friends and those around her that she cared. Sandy never forgot a birthday or overlooked an opportunity to brighten someone's day or help those less fortunate with a card, gift, clothing or food. Sandy's spirit and engaging ways made her many friends. Interested in art and a gifted artist since childhood, Sandy found peace in drawing, painting, crafting and sharing her work with others. Sandy was a person of integrity and personified a generous, compassionate spirit. She always saw the best in people and treated everyone with kindness. Sandy endured many difficulties in her life, but this made her all the more empathetic. Sandy truly touched to the lives of so many people. Her death brought tears to not only her close friends and family, but also people who knew her such as her conservator, nurses, social workers and others who had crossed her path. Sandy was truly one of a kind and as her doctor said, we all know she went straight to heaven. She was an angel on earth and she will be deeply missed.
A prayer service will be Monday, August 19, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Newkirk & Whitney Funeral Home, 318 Burnside Avenue, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery both in East Hartford. A calling hour from 10-11 a.m. will precede the service. For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit www.newkirkand whitney.com.

So sad to hear of Sandy's passing. Although I didn't know her as well as others who wrote in her guestbook, I did have the pleasure of her company in several eat-out lunches with her and a fellow resident of a local nursing homer where Sandy was a resident several years ago. Sandy was one of the sweetest and spiritally generous persons I have ever known and was a very dear friend to him who along with his mother will dearly miss her, as well as others who knew her well.

God saw you getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put His arms around you
And whispered "Come with me."
With tearful eyes we watched you
As you slowly slipped away
And though we loved you dearly
We couldn't make you stay.
Your golden heart stopped beating
Your tired hands put to rest
God broke our hearts to prove to is
He only takes the best!
