BOUDREAU, Sharon Kaye
Sharon Kaye Boudreau, 59, of Windsor, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford on September 25, 1954 to the late Albert J. Jr. and Mary Lou (Shults) Boudreau. She leaves her sister, Teresa Anne Boudreau and nephews Ryan and Keith Fowler of Jeffersonville, VT; her brother John Charles Boudreau , his wife Valerie (Gagne) and his children Jared and Olivia of Guilford, her brother David Michael Boudreau, his wife Vasiliki (Assikelis) and his children Antonios and David Jr. of Ansonia, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Sharon graduated Windsor High in 1972, followed by a degree in biology from the University of Hartford. As an accomplished artist, she briefly worked as a medical illustrator before switching careers and becoming the first female police officer in Simsbury, CT. She then spent many of her later years working for The Travelers Insurance Co. Sharon had a deep love of education, and throughout her life actively worked to expand her knowledge of languages, arts, and world cultures. She was a very giving person and a devoted caregiver to her late mother; all while staunchly refusing help for herself, even as her body failed her. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
A Christian burial will be held on Nov. 9th at 11 AM at Palisado Cemetery. Her family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 8, from 5-8 PM at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. For online condolences, please visit www.carmonfuneralhome.com.

Sharon & I both worked @ WWUH-FM in the mid 70's. We also shared a passion for photography, had the same model of camera [Zeiss Contaflex] and went on a couple of photo safaries in Hartford area. I'm so sorry to read of her passing, and extend my condolences to her family & friends.

We are so sorry for your loss of Sharon. My mother, Lois Plona, always loved the cards Sharon would sent to her at Christmas usually depicting an adorable animal. She couldn't wait to show them to me and has saved every one. It was so thoughtful of Sharon. She was really a very special person.

To the Boudreau Family, I had the great pleasure of working with Sharon at the Travelers and enjoyed the many conversations we had discussing cultures and family and friends. She was very caring and always wanted to do her best in life. It was an honor knowing such an intelligent woman. I will miss that smile and laugh of hers. She is an angel and I know she will be missed by the many people who really knew her. My prayers are with her family at this very sad time. God Bless.

Sharon has been my friend for about 35 years. Sharon was a good and loyal friend. I met her during her EMT class. She then went on to Volunteer for the Bloomfield Volunteer Ambulance for a few years. If you knew Sharon you knew how stubborn she could be. When Sharon was working to get hired as a police officer in Simsbury she worked harder then any other individual that I knew at that time, and refused to give up no matter what barriers were presented to her, that is also how she handled her career when she was an officer. She was a great artist also (something she would deny). Specifically I remember the water color painting she made of her Grandmother from Missouri's home. She truly loved her Ozark ancestry. I will miss Sharon, she will be especially be missed this Christmas Eve. She has spent this night with my family for many year bringing her famous green bean salad. Sharon you will be missed and my your memory always be for a blessing.

To The Family of Sharon Boudreau; My sister lives next door to Sharon and the late Mrs. Boudreau. I had the pleasure of knowing her. I will remember Sharon as a very kind and loving person. She would walk her dogs and stop to take a few minutes to have a small conversation. She would contact me if anything was going on at my sister's home in her absence. Who could ask for a better neighbor?
I pray that God will give you all strength and keep fond memories of Sharon in your heart. An angel that will definitely be missed.
