Stephen CLUBB Obituary





CLUBB, Stephen J.

Stephen J. Clubb, 63, of Farmington, beloved husband of Deborah Anderson-Clubb, passed away peacefully Friday, (August 2, 2013). He was born August 8, 1949 in Manchester, CT, and was the loving son of Dorothy (Dougan) Clubb of Bonita Springs, FL and the late James M. Clubb. Stephen received his Bachelor's degree from Central Connecticut State University and earned his MBA from Western New England College in Springfield, MA. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard. Stephen spent 35 years at Alstom Power Inc., in Windsor, CT most recently serving as Sourcing Manager, Global Pressure Parts. During his time at Alstom Power Inc., he enjoyed traveling to Europe and Asia on business. An avid cyclist, Stephen was an active member of the Alstom Bicycling Club. He enjoyed golfing and was proud of his hole-in-one which he achieved at Keney Park in Hartford. He served his community by volunteering at the Noah Webster House in West Hartford and First Church of Christ Congregational in Unionville. Stephen also enjoyed traveling, and spending time at the beach with his wife, family and friends. He was an enthusiastic sports fan and especially enjoyed following UCONN Women's Basketball. The most important thing to Stephen was his family. Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by his two daughters, Marissa DeVaul and husband Donald of Constantia, NY and Meredith Clubb of East Granby, CT, his brother, Jonathan Clubb and wife Anne of Bloomfield, CT. He leaves his step-children, Kyle Haas and wife Jessica of New York, NY, Damon Haas of Watertown, MA, and Jessica Edgell and husband Robert of Cos Cob, CT. He also leaves his adored grandchildren, Joycelyn Mae DeVaul, Annabelle and Amelia Edgell and Roman Haas.
Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Tuesday, Aug. 13 from 4-7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 14 at 10:30 a.m. in the First Church of Christ Congregational, 61 Main St., Unionville with Rev. Cynthia Carr officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Church of Christ Congregational, 61 Main St., Unionville, CT 06085 or to a charity of the donor's choice. Deborah, Marissa and Meredith, Mark and I are sincerely sorry for loss. Steve was always so kind. Such a pleasure to know in work and through the family. He will be remembered with great fondness and that wonderful smile that made everyone else around him feel special. Our deepest sympathies go out to the entire family.
