Steven R. Briere, 25, of South Windsor, died Monday, (July 22, 2013) at Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester. Born in Providence, RI on Nov. 7, 1987, he had lived in North Attleboro, MA before moving to South Windsor 12 years ago. He was a Dietician at Riverside Health & Rehabilitation Center, East Hartford. He just recently celebrated his 9th year anniversary. Steven attended Briarwood College and received his bachelor's degree in Communications from Western New England University, Springfield, MA. He enjoyed golf, bowling and was an avid sports fan, especially the New England Patriots, New York Yankees, the Boston Bruins and Celtics. He leaves his mother and her husband, Marilyn (DeForest) and Salvatore Oddo of South Windsor, his father and his wife, David and Maria Briere of Salem, MA; grandparents, Elizabeth and Robert Briere of Lincoln, RI; his girlfriend Kristin Artiles of Vernon. He also leaves two step-brothers Joseph Oddo of West Hartford and John Oddo of Windsor Locks. Steven also leaves three aunts, Brenda DeForest of Attleboro, MA, Donna DeForest Rowan of South Attleboro, MA, Theresa DeLisa of Windsor Locks. He also leaves four uncles, John DeForest Jr. of North Attleboro, MA, Kenneth DeForest of South Carolina and Dennis DeForest of Northboro, NH and Leo Oddo of Southington. Steven also had a number of cousins. Steven was predeceased by his grandfather John DeForest Sr. and his grandmother Shirley Briere. He also leaves some very close friends, Matt Chenette, Chris Bushey, Alex Cerrone, Ty Chenette, Dan Sexton, Chris Rogers and Christine Fallavollita.
His family will receive friends, Tuesday from 3-6 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Road, South Windsor, followed by a funeral service at 6 p.m. Burial will be private.
