I adored Mrs. Staves. We use to make cakes together for the children's first communion at St. Matthew's. She taught me a lot and was also so patient with me. We will all miss her. My prayers go out to all of her family.

I remember Terry from church ... she was our children's first catechism teacher, and everyone loved her. Over the years, she worked very hard, and always had a gentle way, and a winning smile.

To the Staves family,
My condolences go out to all of you. I remember your mother as being a most kind and genuine person. I just happened to pass your home this past week and was thinking of her, surprised to read of her passing today, I had missed it earlier. I lost my mother this past year also, so I can truly sympathize with all of you in your loss. We are fortunate to have had our mothers all these years, may you find comfort in that as I have.

Your mother was the sweetest, kindest, most thoughtful person I have ever met in my life. She was a wonderful mother and she raised her sons to be gentlemen and I remember she would always say to Paul and Roger "girls are like china dolls" and to also respect people. She was also my religious education teacher and she always told a great story to help us understand her message for the week. She always welcomed us into her home with a smile and a hug. Even in her later years before she had her stroke I saw her outside the house getting the mail and she invited me in for a cup of tea and we chatted for quite awhile. I truly loved your mom she was a great person and I have lots of memories from my childhood of her. My sympathies to the entire family.

Terry was a devoted member of St. Matthews Church - She taught me how to make homemade 'hosts' many years ago for the masses. Sincerely, Jean Leonard
