Therese M. (Marcotte) Chalifoux, 82, of Newington, CT formerly of Windsor Locks, CT passed away on Friday, (December 06, 2013), at Newington Health Care Center. Therese was born June 17, 1931, in Drummondville, Canada the daughter of the late Isidore and Maria (Robidoux) Marcotte. Therese retired from Stanadyne Corporation in Windsor in 1993 after 20 years and previously was employed with ARA as a cook for several years. She enjoyed knitting and her family and friends will forever remember their knitted slippers that Therese made them. She is survived by her four children, Steven Chalifoux of Brewer, ME, John Chalifoux and his significant other, Patricia McNutt of Enfield, CT, Shirley Larson and her husband, Bruce of Newington, CT and David Chalifoux and his wife, Carolyn of Higganum, CT; four grandchildren, Jessica DeGray of New Hartford, CT, Earl DeGray of Waterbury, CT, Nicole Koleszar and her husband, Jesse of Thomaston, CT and Shane Chalifoux of Enfield, CT and a great grandson, Darren DeGray; her former sister-in-law, Sandra Chalifoux several siblings, nieces and nephews and extended family in Canada. Therese was predeceased by a son, Gary Chalifoux and husband, Joseph William Chalifoux. Therese's family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Newington Health Care for the wonderful and compassionate care she received. Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family on Tuesday, December 10, 2013, from 9-11 a.m. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks with a funeral service being celebrated at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
