Tyler Raymond Allen, 25, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at his home in Granby. He was born on April 6, 1988 in Hartford to Bruce F. Allen and Nancy (Barrett) Allen. Tyler grew up in and spent the majority of his life in Granby. After graduating from Baron Institute, he spent awhile working as a welder on heavy nuclear reactor components in Portsmouth, NH, but had returned to Granby a few years ago to pursue new career opportunities. He loved skiing, snowmobiling, 3-wheeling, motorcycles, fast cars and was a pro at video gaming. Tyler had a great sense of humor and could always deliver an appropriate and funny comeback. He was outgoing and a loyal friend. Tyler especially cherished the time he spent boogie boarding on the beach in Weekapaug, RI with his maternal grandfather. He had been a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tariffville. In addition to his parents Tyler is survived by his aunts, Mary Ellen McCormick of Stuart, FL; Julianne Lennon of Old Lyme; Cindy Phipps and her husband Dana of Lehighton, PA; Marion Wallace and her husband Dewey of Kensington, MD; his uncle, Thomas Barrett and his wife Jean of Bedford, NH; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandparents and an uncle. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 23, 10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 11 Church St., Tariffville section of Simsbury. Burial will be private. His family will receive friends on Sunday, December 22, from 2-5 p.m. at the Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook St., Granby.
