Veronica Janick Obituary



Veronica (Sroka) Janick, 93, of Plainville, passed away peacefully on New Year's Day (January 1, 2014). She was the wife of the late Peter Joseph Janick. Vera was the daughter of the late Andrew and Julia (Stanish) Sroka. She is survived by her devoted children; Barbara Richmond and son-in-law Gordon of Vernon; Joan Lax and son-in-law Michael of Bow, NH; two grandchildren; Dr. Pamela Richmond of Pueblo, CO and Jonathan Richmond and his loving wife Sonya of Newington; two amazing great-grandchildren; Peter and Elizabeth Richmond of Newington. She also leaves behind two devoted nieces and their husbands who helped care for Aunt Ve; Kathy Lyons and her husband Mark, Joanne Piotrowski and her husband Peter and their two children, Ava and Aiden, all of Plainville and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers; John, Andrew and Joseph and her sisters; Frances, Stella, Wanda and Catherine. In lieu of flowers, donations in Veronica's memory may be made to American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, MA 01061-0515. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday January 4, 2014 at the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church (PNCC), 200 Summer St., Plantsville. Burial will follow in the Holy Trinity PNCC Cemetery, Southington. Calling hours will be held prior to the church service from 9:30am to 10:30am at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S.
