Virginia Pandolfo Obituary



Virginia Carta Pandolfo, beloved wife of Anthony J. Pandolfo, passed into eternal rest on November 15, 2013. Born October 7, 1944, in Middletown, daughter of Carl and Jennie Carta, she is survived by son Jeff Pandolfo and daughters, Tricia Pandolfo and Lisa Carlson. She also leaves behind three sisters, Rose Marie Hajek of Blufton, SC, Mary Ann Giuffrida and Camille Salamone of Middletown. Virginia retired from the Middletown Board of Education and enjoyed her winters in Florida and the remainder of the year enjoying time with her family, especially her grandchildren, in CT. She volunteered at St. Francis of Assisi church both as a lector and an active participant in the church fair. She volunteered at the Middlesex Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Cromwell. Friends and family alike remember her for her outgoing personality, easygoing nature, boundless compassion for others, and eternal love of the beach. The family will receive friends at D'Angelo Funeral Home, 22 S. Main St. on Wednesday, November 20, from 4-7p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be held Thursday, November 21, at 11am, St. Francis Parish, 10 Elm St., in Middletown. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of CT, 372 Danbury Rd, Suite 200, Wilton, CT 06897. Donations may also be sent in Ginny's memory to Middlesex Hospital, Office of Philanthropy, 28 Crescent St, Middletown, CT 06457.
