Walter CZAPLA Obituary
CZAPLA, Walter M. Sr.
Walter M. Czapla Sr., age 78, of East Hartford, formerly of Marlborough, devoted husband of 55 years to Elizabeth "Betty" (Riccio) Czapla, passed away peacefully Monday, (March 11, 2013) in St. Francis Hospital, Hartford. Born Nov. 4, 1934 in Clifton Heights, PA, he was a son to the late John and Mary (Matusz) Czapla. Walter was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving as a helicopter crew chief. He was employed with ADVO in Hartford, CT for over 30 years. He enjoyed playing guitar and woodworking, but his true passion was spending time with his family and friends, who he was always willing to lend a helping hand. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children Lori (John) Rudker of Salem, CT, Lisa (Joe) Michaud of East Hampton, CT, and Walter Jr. (Lori) of Manchester, CT; five grandchildren Jennifer, Adam and Randy Michaud, and Kyle and Sarah Rudker. He also leaves sisters Mildred Pilarski and Stephanie Dulka, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 14 beginning at 9 a.m. at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial, to be celebrated at 10 a.m., from St. Francis of Assisi Church, South Windsor. I still think about all the good times we had working on the road together Walt I knew you my hole career at Advo . if I did have a problem with a machine you were always able to help me out Thank you for that.
also enjoyed talking to Betty when I would call you at home to see how you guys were doing
II know you are up in Heaven looking down and watching over your family and the grand children .
