He loved working in his large garden by the brook and was so proud of the numerous vegetables it would produce and donated the excess to the local food banks. He loved to be physically active, enjoyed skiing, ice-skating and basketball. He was a lover of nature, wildlife and his beloved pets including his dogs over the years, Brownie, Freddie and recently, 'The B; Walt was loved by many and will be deeply missed. Walt was a friend, a coworker and the cornerstone of our CY basketball game. The games went on for 22 years because of Walt. A great guy who will be missed by anyone who had the good fortune to know him.

My friendship with Walt began at the tax office. He was very knowledgable, funny, interesting and diverse in his hobbies. Every summer he'd show off his garden and share his vegetables. He took pride and great care of his home, his yard, his dogs, and he loved the two special ladies in his life, Suzanne and Nilda. I will miss Walt very much, he was a warm and sincere man, stubborn in his politics, energetic with his dancing, picky in his eating, but hugged like he meant it!

As a long-time employee of CY, I remember that no one did anything at CY without Walt knowing about it or being involved in it in some way. He was unique in every way and will be missed. May God provide comfort in this time of loss.
