William GROSSMAN Obituary
GROSSMAN, William R. "Bill"
William R. "Bill" Grossman, 70, of Oakville, died Wednesday, (May 29, 2013) at his home. Bill was born March 4, 1943 in Bristol and was a son of the late Waldemar J. and Elizabeth B. (Bachman) Grossman. He enjoyed parades, parties and dances, especially the St. Leo's Dance in Waterbury. He was an Adult Boy Scout and he participated in the Special Olympics and the CRI Day Program. Bill is survived by a brother and sister-in-law: Paul and Nancy Grossman of Ellington; a sister: Karen "Baby" Grossman of Bristol; nieces and nephews: Michael and Kathryn Grossman of Glastonbury, William and Deborah Grossman of Granby, and William and Kathleen Richards of Ellington; grandnieces and grandnephews: Olivia and Madeline Grossman, Tyler and Kelsey Grossman, and Tyler and Zachary Richards; and his housemates at the Buckingham Group Home: Mike, Jeff, and Ricky. In addition, he is survived by the Buckingham staff and his team: Steve Brown, Winston Hoyt, Tom Kabelka, Mark Dixon, Mike DeGrosse, Steve Smith, Paula Doolittle, Joanne Edwards, and William King.
A Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2013, 11 a.m., at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Private burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol, will be at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may call at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. To Paul, Karen, Nancy, all the Grossman family and to the Buckingham staff: you all made Bill's life as rich as it has been all these years. The love, care, advocacy and dedication you have provided him has been outstanding. Everyone should be as blessed as Bill! What an incredible family!
