RONCAIOLI, William
William Roncaioli, 80, of Mystic, formerly of Windsor, beloved husband of Anne (Murphy) Roncaioli, died peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2013 in the quiet company of his family. He was born on December 12, 1932, in Hartford, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Roncaioli. William grew up in Hartford and was a graduate of Weaver High School. He went on to serve our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Upon returning from the service he went on to graduate from Bryant College with a B.S. in accounting. William worked for Heublein Inc. for many years, before leaving when he acquired GlacierWare Manufacturing later renamed to Hartford Plastics which he operated for thirty plus years. William was an avid golfer and was instrumental in the startup and running of the Millbrook Golf Course in Windsor, his home away from home. A communicant of St. Gabriel Church for over 50 years, he was active on many boards with both the church and school. He also enjoyed yard work, planting, trimming and taking care of his raised beds as well as the occasional banana split with Jay Pinckney. A kind, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, he will be greatly missed by all. Along with Anne, his wife of over 57 years, he leaves his children, William Roncaioli Jr. and his wife Lisa of Glastonbury, Anthony Roncaioli and his wife Linh of Suffield, Deborah Fowler and her husband Dwight of Marlborough, Anne Marie McLeod of Mystic, David Roncaioli of East Windsor and Stephen Roncaioli of Concord, CA; his brother, John Roncaioli and his wife Phyllis of Glastonbury, 11 grandchildren, Joshua, Michael, Brittany, Casey, Steven, Kyle, Megan, Kaitlin, Rachel, Sean and Lauren and a great grandson, Alex. He was predeceased by his brother, George Roncaioli.
His family will receive friends on Sunday, Sept. 29, 2013, from 2-5 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 30, 2013, 10 a.m., at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury followed by a reception at The Gallery in Glastonbury. Burial will be private at the request of his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association CT Chapter 2075 Silas Deane Highway Suite 100 Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
