Amelia (Marino) ALBERICO Obituary

ALBERICO, Amelia (Marino)

Amelia (Marino) Alberico, known affectionately as Bema, departed this life peacefully on July 24, 2012, surrounded by her family. Amelia was born in Rocky Hill to John and Gennie (Tolli) Marino, the fourth of seven sisters. Amelia treasured spending time with her sisters usually cooking. One of Bema's greatest joys was being surrounded by her family and friends for dinner and picnics. She would share the love from her garden and heart, that she had just poured out into her lastest home-cooked feast and the deserts that accompanied it. You always left full, both in your stomach and your heart. Amelia was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years, James V. Alberico, as well as five sisters; Lucy Sarra, Sadie DiBatista, Carmela Pappalardo, Livia Popalardo, and Teresa Russo. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Eleanor and James Whalen, son Robert J. Alberico and Madeline Rucci, grand-daughter Kim ALberico, grand-son Jamie Whalen and wife Ann, three great grand-children; Kyle, Trevor, and Brenden, sister Vera Rowel, many nieces and nephews that she adored as well as their families, and friends from near and far that she always made feel welcome.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. from the Giuliano-Sagarino Funeral Home at BROOKLAWN, 511 Brook Street, Rocky Hill, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St James Church, Rocky Hill at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends are invited to the funeral home, Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The family would like to thank all the wonderful friends at Ellis Manor as well as Hospice Care for their love and understanding.
