BUTTERI, Anna
Anna Butteri, 99, of Avon, died Friday (November 2, 2012), at Avon Health Center. She was born, October 29, 1913 in Avon, daughter of the late Serafino and Maria (Salvadori) Butteri and had lived in Avon all her life. Miss Butteri was a Seamstress at Sage Allen for 38 years prior to her retirement. Anna was a member of the Church of Saint Ann, Prince Thomas of Savoy Ladies Auxiliary, and Avon Seniors. She enjoyed sewing for family, friends, and neighbors, playing cards, and bingo. She is survived by a niece, Lois Butteri of Thomaston; a great nephew, Michael Butteri and his wife Lisa; a great niece, Doreen Butteri; and her special cousins, Anne and Lewis Affelder of Avon with whom she made her home for several years, Joan and Michael Gould of Avon, Robert and Christina Affelder and their daughter Audrey of Ocean Pines, MD, Zachary Gould, Jessica and Erik Perotti and their daughter Mia, all of New Hartford, in addition to many other cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved twin sister, Prima Mary Butteri, her brother, Aldo Butteri and his wife Angie and her nephew, Michael Butteri. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the administration and nursing staff at Avon Health Center for their exceptional care and loving support given to Anna as they had done for Prima when she was a resident. Friends may call at the Vincent Funeral Home, 120 Albany Turnpike, Canton on Wednesday, November 7 from 4 to 6 p.m., concluding with the Recitation of the Rosary. Friends may also call at the funeral home on Thursday, November 8, from 9:15 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at the Church of Saint Ann in Avon. Burial will follow in Saint Ann's Cemetery in Avon. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Avon Health Center, Resident Trust Fund, 652 West Avon Rd., Avon, CT 06001 or to Prince Thomas of Savoy Society, 32 Old Farms Road, Avon, CT 06001.
