DERICK, Barbara S. Barbara S. Derick, 89, of Southbury, CT, formerly of Middlebury, VT died Saturday, July 28, 2007 at Pomperaug Woods, where she resided. She was the widow of William B. Derick, Director of Chemical Engineering for General Cable Corporation, Perth Amboy, N.J. A gentle and caring woman, who loved to garden and devoted herself to community and volunteer service, Mrs. Derick is survived by a daughter, Priscilla van Heiningen of Southbury, her son John Derick and his wife Amy Brown of Cornwall, VT, her sister, Marjorie Johnson of Moon Township, PA and three grandchildren, Jessica Derick and Kimberly and Jeffrey van Heiningen. A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, August 3 at Pomperaug Woods, Southbury. Burial will take place in Wells, Vermont where a graveside service is planned for August 7 at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Tinnitus Association, Unit 20, P.O.
