David Lee BOMPART Obituary

BOMPART, David Lee

David Lee Bompart (a.k.a. Lumpsum) born January 14, 1976, passed on December 16, 2012 at the age of 36 surrounded by his family and closest friends. He was born on Long Island and loved the beaches of Fire Island. David grew up in Hartford and affected everyone with his wit, strong emotions, big smile, booming voice and huge bear hugs. He served in the first year of Americorps and briefly attended CCSU and Capital Community College. As a voracious reader in his search for meaning and purpose for himself and for the greater universe, he read everything from the Bible and the Koran to fantasy novels (and, of course, his Marvel comic books!) David was a self-taught prolific writer of prose and poetry where he expressed his views and feelings and wishes for the healing of our divided world. As a Hip-Hop artist he performed and worked at Sully's Pub for many years. His powerful messages sought justice with hopes of exposing and defeating the conflicts of humanity to promote the oneness of our world. David's greatest pride and joy were his three children - Cheyenne (9), Caitlyn Rose (6), and Isaiah (4). His limitless adoration for them will surround them forever. He found true love, peace and unconditional support and friendship during his last years with his fiancée Lindsay Ellison. He is also survived by his mother, Rose Lezak Janow, stepfather, Marvin Janow, sister (and Buddie to his children) Laurie Bompart, stepsister Laurel Larco and her husband Tony, stepbrother Evan Janow and his wife Judy, Aunt Margaret Lezak and cousins Ramona Sablon, Jonathan Sablon, Tarik Gurer and their families, as well as life-long friends Juvon, Daryl, Carlos and Micah and extended family members and friends too numerous to list.
David lived his life as a free spirit, and forever his spirit will be free to help guide us all to a better place on earth and beyond. A joyful memorial service to celebrate his life will be held on Saturday, December 29, 1 p.m, at Hartford Seminary, 77 Sherman Street, Hartford, CT, 06105. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the fund for David's children may be made out to Rose Lezak, 73 Vista Way, Bloomfield, CT 06002.
