Doris Ferguson Obituary


Doris (DeMeo) Ferguson, 81, of Rocky Hill, beloved wife of the late John Ferguson, passed away Monday, (July 28, 2014). She was born November 13, 1932 in Hartford, the daughter of the late Silvio and Mary (Silvester) DeMeo. Prior to her retirement, Doris was employed in the accounting department for the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation. She was a former member of the Young Democratic Club. She enjoyed going out to dinner and happy hours with her friends, but her greatest joy was her family. Doris will be dearly missed by her two sisters, Jenny Raimondi and Donna Northrop, both of Rocky Hill; her stepson, Scott Ferguson; nieces and nephews, Mark D'Onofrio, Marci Moreau and husband Michael, Cristy Osgood, Kirk DeMeo and Greg D'Onofrio; nine great-nieces and three great-nephews; a sister-in-law, Bonnie Pratson and her husband Pete and two brothers-in-law, Danny Caruso and Ronnie Caruso. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by two brothers, Ronald and his wife Dee Dee and Ralph "Gallo" DeMeo; two sisters, Georgina DeMeo and Lorraine Lombardi; her niece, Margo Holmes and her nephew, Michael Lombardi. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday (July 31) at 9:30 a.m. at St James Church, 767 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. Everyone is asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the D'Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Blvd., Wethersfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' memory may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association-Connecticut Chapter, P.O. Box 718, Old Mystic, CT 06372.
