TUCKER, Edwin W.
Edwin W. Tucker, of Storrs, CT, passed away on May 16, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born in New York, NY on Feb. 25, 1927, the son of the late Ben and May Tucker. He was the widower of Gladys Tucker. Gladys was the center of his universe. They shared 57 years of marriage before her death in 2009. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of New York University and Harvard Law School, he also received graduate degrees from New York Law School and Trinity College. Following service in the Air Force during the Korean Conflict and a law practice in Brooklyn, NY, he began a four decade long teaching career at UCONN School of Business. He retired in 2003 as a Distinguished Alumni Professor and Professor Emeritus of Business Law. During his years at UCONN he wrote over 100 legal articles and authored / co-authored six legal textbooks. However, his passion was teaching. He took pride knowing he helped educate thousands of future lawyers, accountants and business leaders. Ed received several UCONN and national teaching awards, and was named to the UCONN School of Business Hall of Fame. He was very generous with his time and support of many local social service organizations. He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Tucker of New York, NY and his son Sherwin, his wife Elaine of East Granby, CT and their children, Jillian, Alyson, Brandon and Molly. His family would like to thank the entire staff of Hughes Health and Rehabilitation, especially the North Nursing Staff for their dedicated care during Ed's stay there.

I recall having a Business Law class with Professor Tucker back in 1974. He was the nicest gentleman and he will be missed.
