Obituary Condolences

Elizabeth S. "Libby" Adajian, of Wethersfield, died peacefully, Sunday, (October 19, 2003) at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Hartford, the beloved daughter of wonderful parents, the late Joseph and Pearl (Oflazian) Adajian. She helped to establish and served as a partner for many years at Adajian's of Hartford a popular downtown restaurant with it's jewel like appearance and unique paintings. She was a graduate of Bulkeley High School and attended the Randall School of Fine Arts. During World War II she worked for the U.S. Navy. Libby will be remembered for her great sense of humor, her tremendous love of the arts, her passion for reading and true love of animals. She was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and a great supporter of UCONN Women's Basketball. She is survived by two sisters, Regina P. Adajian of Wethersfield and Rosemary A. Zaleski of Clearwater, FL; two brothers, Joseph Adajian and his wife Elsie of Wethersfield and Edward Adajian Sr. and his wife Agnes of West Hartford; nine nieces and nephews, Shirley Heckert and her husband John of Clearwater, FL, Pamela Cressman of Largo, FL, Linda Winikoff and her husband Stuart of Winston Salem, NC, Janis Lischeid and her husband William of Meriden, Ellen Pate of Indialantic, FL, Edward Adajian, Jr. and Greg Adajian both of West Hartford, Joseph Adajian and his wife Daria of Southport and Catherine McCarthy and her husband Thomas of Mystic; 12 grand nieces and grand nephews, Peter, Jennifer, Benjamin, Kate, Curt, Greg, Alex, Eddie, Daniel, Cameron, Kyra and Claire Catherine. The funeral will be Friday, October 24, 10 a.m. in Trinity Epsicopal Church, 300 Main St. Old Wethersfield, with The Rev. Joanne Neel-Richard officiating. Burial will be in the family plot of the Village Cemetery, Wethersfield. There will be no visiting hours. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to the caring staff at Haven Health Care and to the caring doctor's and nurses at Hartford Hospital, especially those in the ICU Bliss 10 1.
