Ellen Elfreda DeBeatham Obituary


Ellen Elfreda DeBeatham, 92, of Windsor passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Ellen was born on January 24, 1922 in Orange Hill, Browns Town St. Ann, Jamaica to the late Carlton and Drucilla Brown. Ellen was predeceased by her loving husband Wilfred Brooks DeBeatham and her only son Winston Glanville DeBeatham. She leaves to cherish her memories her six daughters, Daphne Reid of Jamaica, West Indies, Norma and her husband Leslie Perry, Veronica and her husband Norris Taylor, Jr., Carol and her husband Philip Mitchell, Janet DeBeatham and Jacqueline "Mitzie" and her husband Robert Freeman, Sr.; a brother, Livingston Brown "Bibbs" of London, England; three nieces, Angela Wilson, Deborah and Dionne Sibblis; a nephew, Kirk Johnson and many other relatives. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, July 12 at 10 a.m. at Rehoboth Church of God, 1170 Blue Hills Ave., Bloomfield, with the family receiving friends Friday evening from 5p.m. to 7p.m. at the church and one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Mount St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. Her family would like to express their appreciation to the VNA of Hartford Hospital and Dr. Steinberg of UCONN, as well as a special thanks to her church family.
