ROHR, Eugene Patrick
Eugene Patrick Rohr, of Cromwell died April 19, 2012. Married 29 years to Karen Wright Rohr, he was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly (Cowles) Rohr. Gene was born March 17, 1929 to Irving and Helen (Kajdasz) Rohr. A Marine Corps veteran, he was active in the American Legion and Rocky Hill Lions Club. He was a jet engine test engineer before discovering his love of teaching at Rocky Hill High School. Over three decades, he taught math, science and physics before retiring in 1991 as assistant principal. Gene continued teaching at CCSU and MXCC. Gene is also survived by a sister Mary Lou Rohr of Miami, FL; son Mark Rohr and his wife Sue Carrai of Woburn, MA; three step-children, Ian and Melissa Wright, Bridgit (Wright) Herrick and her husband Travis; and two grandchildren, Nathan Rohr and Cody Wright.
A memorial service is at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 12, 2012 at First Congregational Church, 355 Main St., Cromwell. A reception follows. Burial will be private. Donations can be made to the Rocky Hill Lions Club, P.O. Box 452, Rocky Hill, CT 06067.
