Obituary Condolences

Kozyra, Frank Edward Frank Edward Kozyra, 58, of Hartford, died Sunday, (May 27, 2007) at Hartford Hospital. Born in Hartford, son of Franciszka (Leszczynski) Kozyra, of Hartford and the late Edward A. Kozyra, he lived in Hartford all of his life. Frank served in the U.S. Army, First Cavalry Division, Airmobile, in the Vietnam War where he was awarded the Bronze Star. Before retiring in 2003, he was employed for 36 years as a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service. Besides his mother, he leaves a sister, Carol and her husband, Waldemar Sowa of Hartford, an uncle, Benny Kozyra of Hartford, aunts, Clara Bloch of Newington, Regina Machernis of Windsor, Helen Socha in Poland and many cousins and special friends. He was predeceased by five aunts, Blanche Cwikla, Veronica Syp, Karolina Jusko, Aniela Leszczynski, Genowefa Guziczek. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 31, 9:15 a.m. from the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, 43 Wethersfield Avenue, Hartford, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 10 a.m. at SS Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial with military honors will be held at Mt. St. Benedict Cemetery, Bloomfield. His family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 30, from 5-8 p.m. at the Waszkelewicz South Green Memorial Home, Hartford. Memorial donations may be made to SS Cyril & Methodius School Fund, 35 Groton Street, Hartford, CT 06106.
