I will miss my Step Dad. For the past 35 years of my life, George was always available to talk, give advice, or if the situation was appropriate, to tell a story, or write a limerick. George had a great mind, and was very concerned about social justice. I will miss all of these things about him, and more.

George was an ardent supporter of Yale with many good stories to tell. It was fun and sometime exiting to ride in a golf cart with him. He played in all kinds of weather then entertained us afterward in the bar with his escapades. I will miss him.

I first knew George through my wife Brad, with whom he at some point shared a West Hartford school. Then, as a newsman, I became aware of his many thoughtful contributions to the rule of law. When he helped insure the work of the Center for First Amendment Rights by having it absorbed in the ACLU of Connecticut during my term as chairman, he joined our board -- and was for years a voice always heard and respected in our deliberations. He served until his illness made his continued membership unfeasible. We are the poorer for no longer having the benefit of his wisdom and counsel.
