Obituary Condolences

ANAGNOS, George John George John Anagnos, 88, son of Genos and Margarita Anagnostopoulos, passed Tuesday, (October 28, 2008), at St. Francis Hospital of Multiple Myeloma. He was born March 7, 1920 in Hartford and resided in the Hartford area. He is remembered as the President of City Fish Market in Wethersfield. He worked in the business for 60 years before retiring in May 1995. From his youth he had a passion for airplanes, building and flying beautiful models and in November 1956 at Brainard Airport he took his first flying lesson. Over the years he owned several airplanes and remained an active pilot until just one month ago. He was the oldest active pilot at Brainard Airport. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Rita Alice, a son John and daughter-in-law Janet. He has seven grandchildren, George, Michele, Alysson, Davina, Jeremy, Joshua, Telly and 12 great grandchildren. No calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, October 31, from the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Turnpike, Glastonbury, before interment at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 453 Fairfield Ave., Hartford.
