ADAMSON, George P. George P. Adamson, 75, beloved husband of Irene R. Adamson, of Glastonbury, died Wednesday (May 11, 2005). Born in Bronx, NY, son of the late Harry and Emily Adamson, and lived in Glastonbury many years. He was a graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, and served his country for the next four years. He then joined Pratt and Whitney in East Hartford, where he was a Project Engineer in Project Support until his retirement in 1986. He then started the Adamson Consulting Co. which he operated for several years. He was a member of the Woodledge Swim Club, the St. Paul's Men Club; a former member of the Glastonbury Exchange Club, the Glastonbury Elks. He was a very active member of the Glastonbury Republicans serving many years on the Town Committee, the Economic Development Commission, and served several terms on the Town Council in the 70's. During this time he served as the Majority Leader. He was elected to the Presidential Committee in 1976. George received the Republican of the year in the late 80's and received one of the first awards from Friends of Glastonbury Youth and served on the FOGY board many years. He was an avid Yankee fan, and enjoyed his home and shore property inWesterly, RI. Besides his loving wife, he leaves seven children, Jeffrey Adamson and his wife, Karen of Vernon, Kenneth Adamson of Glastonbury and Thomas and his wife, Theresa of Glastonbury; three daughters, Judith and her husband, Rev. Mark Santonstefano of Glastonbury; Diane Adamson and her husband, Russell George of Ashford; Mary and her husband, Jeff Tracey of Danbury; 13 grandchildren, AMM 1st Class Emily Santostefano now serving in Iraq, Nicholas, Jesse, and Luke Santostefano of Glastonbury; Carlos and Anthony Adamson; Olivia and Molly Tracey; Paul and John Tucci; Kayla, Jessica, and Sara Adamson. He also leaves a sister and her husband, Margaret and Joseph Kovacs of Cornwall, NY. He was predeceased by a daughter, Catherine as well as his parents. A procession will form at the Glastonbury Funeral Home, 450 New London Tpke., Glastonbury, Saturday May 14, at 11 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon in St. Paul's Church. Burial will be in Veterans field, Neipsic Cemetery, Glastonbury. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the FOGY c/o Glastonbury Youth Services, 2155 Main St. Glastonbury, CT. 06033
