George R. Stutz Obituary


Lt. George R. Stutz (Ret. FPD), 89, of Unionville, husband of the late Catherine (English) "Kitty" Stutz, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 16th. Born in Hartford, June 19th, 1924, he was the son of the late Henry and Elizabeth (Mayr) Stutz. George served the Farmington Police Department for 30 years retiring with the rank of Lieutenant in 1983. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and was a member of the Evening Star Lodge # 101 AF & AM in Unionville for over 45 years. George is survived by his three children, Patricia A. Wilusz and her husband Albert of Burlington, Joseph Farnham and his wife Felicia of Unionville and William Farnham and his wife Beverly of Plainville, his sister, Ruth Erismann of Rockville, 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved son, Henry "Hank" Farnham. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rt. 4, Unionville on Thursday (Feb. 20) from 5:00-7:00pm. Funeral services will be held in The Ahern Funeral Home on Friday (Feb. 21) at 11:00am with Rev. Wendell Taylor officiating followed by a Masonic Service conducted by members of the Evening Star Lodge. Burial with full military honors will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Farmington Police Benevolent Association, P.O. Box 312, Unionville, CT 06085.
