WEBER, Hedwig "Hedy" "Oma" (Jordan)

Hedwig "Hedy" "Oma" (Jordan) Weber, 74, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Herbert "Herb" Weber passed away at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, (August 4, 2012). Born July 6, 1938 in Furth, Germany, daughter of the late Fritz and Anna (Hausler) Jordan, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and daughter Doris in 1958 and lived in Windsor and Windsor Locks before moving to the Poquonock section of Windsor in 1969. She was trained as a Fur Finisher and before retiring was employed by Exclusive Furs. Hedy was the Treasurer of the Windsor Golden Fellowship, Honorary Member and past Officer of the Hartford Liederkranz German Club and very active with the Windsor Senior Center. Nothing made her happier than spending time with her family. She was often busy in the kitchen cooking traditional German meals for them, especially her pork roast and spaetzle. She enjoyed traveling, most notably her many visits to her beloved Bavaria to visit her extended family. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, listening to music and reading. She is survived by her four children, Doris Weber and friend Michael Fricano of Brielle, NJ, Tom Weber and his wife, Lisa of Penfield, NY, Heidi Ricard and her husband, Paul of Cumming, GA, Linda Yakaitis and her husband, Tim of North Stonington, CT; 12 grandchildren, Anna Sweeney, Caroline Sweeney Brittain (husband Chris), Laura Sweeney, Kristie Sweeney, Hugh Sweeney, Lauren Weber, Patrick Weber, Sarah Ricard, Hannah Ricard Hayes (husband Alex), Leah Ricard, Connor Yakaitis and Nicole Yakaitis. She was recently blessed with her first great granddaughter, Annabelle Ricard (daughter of Sarah). She also leaves special in-laws, Hedy Savelli and daughter Rita, Renate Lemiuex and husband Yvon and Reini Weber. In addition she leaves many other family members in Germany, especially her beloved cousin Marianne Kreuzer. Her sense of humor and boundless generosity will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
