PARKHURST, Jean Ann (Owen) Jean Ann (Owen) Parkhurst, 60, wife of David L. Parkhurst of Miller Rd., Preston, passed away at her home on Tuesday, (May 25, 2004) surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Bristol, on February 22, 1944, the daughter of Thomas R. Owen and the late Ann (Girolamo) Owen. She was last employed as a dental assistant in the office of Dr. Francis Ward, retiring in 2000 after 20 years in her profession. On July 9, 1966 at the Episcopal Church in Southington, she was united in marriage with David L. Parkhurst, who survives her. Also surviving is her father, Thomas Owen of Southington, and Eustis, FL; a son, Jeffrey D. Parkhurst of Preston; and a daughter, Kimberly T. Heinzelman and her husband, Cliff of Preston; three grandchildren, Kyle Bartha, Karissa Bartha and Nathan Heinzelman, all of Preston; two brothers, Robert Owen and his wife, Jane of Lyme, NH, and Norman Owen of Southington; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation 10-11 a.m. on Friday at Labenski Funeral Home, 107 Boswell Ave., Norwich, with funeral services at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Preston City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Echo Cancer Foundation, 330 Washington St., Suite 220, Norwich, 06360 or Hospice, P.O. Box 902, Uncasville, CT 06382.
