Jeanne Frances Norton Cooper, longtime resident of East Haven, No. Branford, Wallingford and Southington, passed away quietly on Friday, July 25, 2014 at the Masonic Home in Wallingford, where she lived for the past two years. She was pre-deceased by a brother John (Jack) Norton. Jeanne worked at Majestic Laundry and Win Manufacturing before raising her family and at WT Grant Co. until they closed in 1976 and was a receptionist at the Montowese Veterinary Clinic, until she retired in 1991. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a friend to all she met. Her charm and personality drew people to her. She had a zest for life and adventure and was always ready to try something new and exciting. Jeanne's love for animals, especially her poodle, Vanna, was apparent while working at the veterinary clinic and she shared the joys and sorrows of pet ownership with all of her clients. She was and avid Rd Sox fan and followed Johnny Damon to their World Series win in 2004. She continued to follow Damon even as he played for the rivals. She loved to be by the water and spent many summer days on the beach at Misquamicut, Hammonasset and Cape Cod. Her smile and blue eyes could light up the room and she will be missed.
