John JENKINS Obituary

JENKINS, John R. John R. Jenkins, devoted husband and father, son of James R., Sr. and Ruth (Pelletier) Jenkins, of Stafford Springs, CT, died tragically on Sunday, (March 7, 2010) while doing what he did best: helping others. A respected and lifelong pillar of the Stafford community, he is survived by his loving wife of eight years, Nicole (Thibodeau) Jenkins; his three children, Katherine, Samantha, and Alec Jenkins; his parents, James and Ruth Jenkins, all of Stafford Springs, CT; four siblings, Brad, Christine, James R. Jr., and Jennifer Jenkins; sister-in-law, Tammy Walbridge and her husband Michael; brother-in-law, Matthew Thibodeau; father-in-law, Russell Thibodeau and his wife Phyllis of Maine; mother-in-law, Kathleen (Alvarez) Thibodeau of Ellington, CT; and many treasured nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Richard and Mary Jenkins; maternal grandparents, Alvie and Elenor Pelletier; and an uncle, Douglas Pelletier. A skilled carpenter, arborist, and jack-of-all-trades, John was a hard worker and always managed to keep himself busy. An avid outdoorsman, he also loved to fish… that is, when he wasn't working or helping someone out. Always thinking of others before himself, he was an inspiration to all he met. He loved to dance and, to those who loved him, his cowboy boots will be very difficult ones to fill. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 11, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jenkins' Childrens' Fund, c/o Stafford Savings Bank, P.O. Box 25, Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Oh Nicole, my heart aches for you and your children. I know that words can't heal the pain you are feeling but know that you and your family will be in my prayers. I am so sorry for your loss. God had a plan for your husband, even though it is hard to accept that at this time, find comfort in knowing he will be waiting with open arms for you.

Nicole, there are no words anyone can possibly say to help you get through this tragidy. To have someone taken from you, is devestating. Take some peace in knowing that he had found you, his true love, his soulmate. The life you've lived together, the family you built and the love that will continue even though he may not be there physically, he will live forever in your heart. John left his mark on the world, a positive one at that. Through your love and the birth of Alec his legacy will live on. My prayers are with you and I do believe that not only God but John will be there for you and the children. Love
