Obituary Condolences

AGUILAR, Jose Rafael, Sr. Jose Rafael Aguilar, Sr., 61, of November Trail, Haddam, beloved husband of Gloria (Mariona) Aguilar, died Wednesday, (November 14, 2007) at Middlesex Hospital. He was born in El Salvador, the son of the late Rafael Antonio and Sara (del Carmen Villeda) Aguilar. Jose was the owner of a sporting goods store and was also self-employed as a music producer. Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Gloria B. Aguilar-Mariona of Middletown, Claudia Alford and her husband David of Haddam, and Gladys Hartzell and her husband James of Middletown; two brothers, Juan De Dios Aguilar, and Carlos Alberto Aguilar; four sisters, Miriam Avelar, Josefina Monroy, Sara Aguilar, and Alicia Aguiar; four grandchildren, David Alford, Jr., Joseph Alford, Zachary Hartzell, and Brooke Hartzell; special nephew, Roberto Ruiz and great nephew, Pablo Menedez-Ruiz. He was predeceased by a son, Jose R. Aguilar, Jr. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 10:15 a.m. from the Biega Funeral Home, 3 Silver St., Middletown, followed by an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Burial will be in Burr District Cemetery, Higganum.
