Joseph Dudecz Obituary

Joseph Dudecz of Farmington. There are people we meet in life who make our lives a little bit brighter just for having known them. Joe was this person. He could put a smile on anyone's face with his endearing sentiment and good nature. Joe passed away with his children by his side on April 16th at the age of 84. He will be missed dearly by all those who knew him. Joe was born in Hartford CT to Samuel Dudecz and Tessie Kudniak Dudecz, both of whom immigrated to The United States from the Ukraine in the early 1900's. Joe had endless stories of growing up on Broad St. in Hartford, where he made many lifelong friends. He was a graduate of Hartford High School where he was captain of the football team and also lettered in baseball, basketball and track. He was an avid sports fan in his younger days rooting for the Giants, The Yankees and the New England Whalers. Joe worked for The Royal Typewriter Company in Hartford CT and later as a tool & die maker for many years at Charles W. House & Sons in Unionville CT. He resided in Farmington for over 50 years. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his friends and he appreciated and enjoyed the simple things in life. He is survived by his two loving children; a daughter, Kristine D. Green, her husband Gary of Farmington, and son Stephen W Dudecz and his wife Julie of Simi Valley CA. He also leaves behind 4 grandchildren that he cherished, Andrew and Matthew Green and Katelyn and Kylee Dudecz. He is also survived by a brother Stephan Dudecz of Farmington CT. He was predeceased by his wife of over 40 years, Adrienne (Cowles) Dudecz, his parents Samuel and Tessie Dudecz, three sisters Caroline, Anna and Stella Dudecz and a brother William Dudecz. Joe's family would like to thank all those that cared for him, you know who you are. And the nurses at UConn Health Center for their amazing support. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the or Seniors Helping Seniors. Friends may call at The Ahern Funeral Home, 111 Main St., Rte 4, Unionville, on Tuesday, April 22, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 23 at 1:00 pm in St. James Parish, Mountain Rd., Farmington. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park, Rocky Hill, Ct.
