EMANUELSEN, Laura (Hauge) Laura (Hauge) Emanuelsen, 93, of Staten Island, NY, widow of Henry Emanuelsen, died, Saturday (April 23, 2011) at Jefferson House, Newington. She was born in Bergen, Norway, daughter of the late Olaf and Kristi (Kleppe) Hauge. She immigrated to Madison, WI in 1929. She attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI. Laura graduated from the Lutheran Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in 1942. Upon graduating, she enlisted in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps and served in the European Theater of Operations during World War II. She met her husband Henry and they married in 1943. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Lynn Emanuelsen of Berlin, her son, Kirk Emanuelsen and his wife Madeline of Staten Island, NY and her daughter-in-law, Susan Emanuelsen of Gadsden, AL, five grandchildren, Jason Emanuelsen and his fiancée Emily Goodwin, Mark Emanuelsen and his wife Jane, Kristin Greer and her husband Michael, Kerri Jones and her husband Lt. Cmdr, R. Dennis Jones USN and Lt. Kirk Emanuelsen USN and his wife Ashley, a great grandson, Ryan Alexander Jones, a sister, Kate Seiling of Wisconsin. She was predeceased by a son Peder Emanuelsen and two brothers Arne and Olaf. The funeral will be Wednesday (April 27, 2011) at Zion Lutheran Church, Watchogue Rd. Staten Island. Visiting hours will be Tuesday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Casey Funeral Home, 350 Slosson Ave. Staten Island, NY.
